I have some good news for you this spring. My friends at the SAD-AFAG are renewing their website under the sponsorship of GTECHNICS. Thanks to its content management system, more than one editor will be able to make changes to the site at one time, which will help to keep the website up to date. A MySQL database will be set up that will make searching the database much simpler. The whole look of the website is going to be overhauled to make it cleaner and easier to use. There will also be a list of related links. Learn more about the SAD-AFAG at www.gtechnics.com.
My friends at the SAD-AFAG gave a presentation at the Kale Rotary Club on December 6, 2005, after which they discussed what could be done about the massacre of seal pups in Canada. On April 1, 2005, they held a lovely slide show at the Dokü Kültür Nursery School. 70 children promised to help protect us seals and the environment.
And now for some bad news. Orphaned monk seal pup Hippocrates, rescued on the Kos island in October, died suddenly with symptoms of acute enteritis. The seal, which had been under care in MOm's rehabilitation centre, had shown progress, though a delayed increase in body weight. See www.monachus-guardian.org.
My friends at the SAD-AFAG are looking for a sponsor for their quarterly bulletin called ''Akdeniz Gezgini'' (Mediterranean Traveller). Maybe you can help! See you next month!
