Since 1987, the SAD-AFAG (Underwater Research Society-Mediterranean Seal Research Group www.afag.org) has been working to protect the Mediterranean monk seals that inhabit Turkey's shores. To support this worthy cause, The Gate adopted a Mediterranean monk seal via the SAD-AFAG and named him Sleepyhead. Every month, The Gate publishes a letter from Sleepyhead.
