How did you feel when Fatih Terim asked you to join the national team?
Fatih Terim watched us play in the finals in Peru. Everyone said I could be chosen for the national team, but I didn't believe them. My dream has come true so quickly!
Is it true that you were asked to join the German national team? Why did you say no?
Yes, I was asked, but I said no because I am Turkish and want to play for my own country.
How does it feel to be on the national team at the age of 17? It is a major achievement.
Even if I don't get to play, it is a great honour to be on the team. I believe that many of my friends on the U-17 team will one day join the national team. The future is bright.
A lot of European teams are fighting over you. How do you feel about that?
I want to climb the ladder one rung at a time. It feels great to receive offers, but I am happy at Borussia Dortmund.
Where would you like to play in the future?
I have a contract until 2009, but I would love to play for the English Premier League.
How did it feel to score a goal against Germany?
I was very nervous at first, by Levent Bıcakcı, the head of the Turkish football federation, told me before the game that I would score a goal. Words can't express how happy I was.
What is your opinion of Fatih Terim?
He will always mean a great deal to me for having chosen me to play on the national team. I hope that he will continue to let me play. I think he is Turkey's greatest coach.
Do you have a favourite football player?
I am a big fan of Emre Belözoğlu. He's my idol. I'd love to be a star like him.
Would you consider playing in Turkey?
Right now, I am happy playing in Germany. I have no plans to play in Turkey, at least for a long time yet. Of course, you can never know what the future may hold.
