Hello again everybody. I hope you've been well since I that last time wrote. Sadly, the last month hasn't been a very good time for me. Maybe you've heard about what happened. A close friend of mine was horribly murdered. He was hunting fish near a fish farm. First they shot him with a rifle and then tied a weight around him and made him sink to the bottom of the sea. A few days later, his body washed up with the tide. His death has upset me deeply. I really like some of the humans I know, and I can't understand how someone could do such a thing. At least they caught the 'person' who did this and severely punished him.
Well, let me cheer you up with some better news. KOM bathing suits have held a design competition with the Mediterranean seal as its theme. Hopefully next summer the beaches will be filled with people wearing them! I?m going to be famous!
There's been a lot of traffic around here recently. Huge ships that I?ve never seen before?A few days ago, I was chatting with some fishermen friends of mine and they told me that those ships were warships heading to the Gulf! They said there might be another war!
Dear Humans,
Please don't do this! My grandparents told me about the past wars, and I saw the first Gulf War. Even if you 'win', you have so much to lose! In wars, not only people but trees, birds, mammals, fish, waters, seas and even the earth dies! Remember the birds covered in oil, the bombed trees, the smoke from the burning refineries! You say that humans are the only animals who can think and talk. So why don't you use those gifts to solve your problems?
Whether you like it or not, another war in the Gulf of Basra would be awful for us Mediterranean seals. It would be awful for all the living creatures of the world. Be careful?in trying to 'save' the world you might just destroy the planet.
